Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia Is Launching A Socially Distanced And Very Luxe Night Spa For Valentine’s Day
For those of us itching to (safely) venture out into the world this Valentine’s Day, Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia at Comcast Center is turning careful precautions of social distancing into an excuse for a late-night, totally decadent private spa night for two. The city’s first and only Forbes Travel Guide five-star hotel and spa is calling this new offering Night Spa, which launches on Valentine’s Day for couples whose idea of a romantic, Covid-friendly night out includes massages, Champagne, jaw-dropping views of Philadelphia and no one else around. The deal-maker on this experience is never-before-offered private access for two to the hotel’s 57th floor spa and infinity pool until 1am.
The Night Spa experience begins at 10:30pm, after dinner which can be delivered in-room or enjoyed in-restaurant from either Vernick Fish or Jean-George. Upon arrival, guests are welcomed into the spacious spa and pool areas, spaces whose non-Night Spa, non-Covid capacity is 50, with a runway laid with candles and flowers. Once settled in on the pool deck, couples receive their choice of relaxing, signature 60-minute massage. Variations of massage on offer include crystal oil, Swedish, deep tissue, aromatherapy or mother-to-be massage. Post-massage, couples receive a complimentary bottle of Taittinger Champagne (with an option to upgrade to Dom Perignon) to toast romance and relaxation. Couples who prefer to dine late-night, in-spa can order a prix-fixe from either onsite restaurant after 11:30pm to be served on the pool deck. From there, guests are left on their own to luxuriate in the city’s tallest infinity pool, looking out at the city below, until 1:00am. Once ready for the evening, guests receive one dozen Jeff Leatham long-stemmed red roses and two monogrammed Four Seasons signature spa robes to take home.
The Spa at Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia, which opened in August of 2019, is inspired by the healing energies of crystals and realized through design details such as concealing over 700 pounds of crystals into the walls of the spa during construction and naming each treatment room after a crystal. It also offers a signature chakra massage that weaves together chakra energy work and light-medium therapeutic pressure. Spa Director Verena Lasvigne-Fox hopes that guests receiving any treatment onsite are able to absorb the healing energy built into the space and be able to, “let go,” and be “transported for 60 minutes into a different sphere. Some guests may have a feeling like having left for a week of vacation as letting go allows them to deeply relax the body, mind and spirit.” She adds that the spa’s, “treatments are especially meaningful in stressful times like the current stressful climate. They allow you to disconnect and to reset your batteries.”
Night Spa, starting at 1,500 USD, is available throughout the Valentine’s Day weekend, and thereafter upon request, though late-night dinner by the pool is only available during the holiday weekend. One of a handful of new spa programs meant to marry safety and luxury, the Spa at Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia is also offering a poolside bento box and in-room face mask experience. Other Four Seasons properties are also offering similarly private Valentine’s experiences for guests, including a Cupid’s Cabana and Spa experience at Four Seasons Las Vegas.
