The Bread Beauty Supply Hair Cream Takes My Curls From Knotty to Silky in Minutes
Knots, dryness, and endless product testing have wreaked havoc on my natural hair‚ but my interest in Bread Beauty Supply’s Hair Cream was piqued after the brand’s hero product went viral on social media. The formula is said to work miracles on natural hair, keeping it soft and smooth in between wash days—and making the styling process overall easier. (In fact, it’s so good that it even snagged a Glamour Beauty Award this year.)

My curls are no stranger to detangling combs, hair oils, and deep conditioners, but creams were never really part of my hair-care routine. I don’t have a clear answer as to why I didn’t run to use hair creams in the past, but I guess I would say I just didn’t know where they’d fit into my process—I also wasn’t sure what the payoff would be.
I’d clearly been missing out on the magic. Hair creams aren’t just creams; they can double as leave-in conditioners and prestyling products. Once I realized that, I was all in. Sure, I loved using mousse, hair mists, and gels as styling products for my hair, but all they did was keep my curls in place and frizz-free. The Bread Beauty Supply Elastic Bounce Leave-In Hair Cream stands out for this exact reason: It’s infused with nourishing ingredients like mango butter, kakadu plum, and argan oil, which give my hair continuous moisture and shine after washing and styling. This is a total game changer in my book, since it means my hair stays soft and hydrated in between wash days. (Peep the before and after pics below.)
How do I use the cream, you ask? After shampooing and conditioning my hair, I dry my curls with a microfiber towel before scooping a generous amount of Bread Beauty Supply’s product from its jar. I then spread it evenly from root to tip, following up with a fine-toothed comb to ensure the product is getting in across all parts of my hair.
Next, I scrunch up my hair with my hands, as I would with mousse or gel, and let the product sit for a few minutes. Although I prefer air-drying my curly hair, on the day I took the photos I was in a rush to head out the door, so I quickly used a diffuser to add some volume and speed up the drying process. And, voilà, I was left with the results on the right.
The final look was lifted and softer than a marshmallow curl pattern. I’m used to a teeny bit of that crunch factor thanks to hair-care products I’ve used in the past, but this formula really lets my hair’s natural softness shine through. (For the record, I’ve used the hair cream as a wash-and-go product, and it works just as well without a diffuser.)
While I’d love to encourage all of you to try this leave-in hair cream, it is specifically made for medium-to-thick wavy, curly, and coily hair types. All the oils in the formula would really weigh down fine hair. That said, eligible candidates, run (don’t walk) to add this rich and hydrating hair cream to your cart—and routine. You won’t regret it.
